Damen Samuel is an international singer/songwriter and performer who is currently based in Melbourne (Australia).
Damen Samuel of German and Nigerian descent, moved to New York City in 2002, where he quickly became part of the local music scene of Brooklyn and the Lower East Side. Here, he refined his song writing and performing skills by regularly appearing at various venues and collaborating with other local musicians. Between the years of 2002-2006, Damen Samuel also defined his music repertoire and skills by collaborating with long-time friend and fellow songwriter, LORD TOPH. The two composed a large body of musical works under the musical duet name, “BitterWine.”
2009 saw the successful launch of Damen’s first full-length album “A Gypsy’s Lullaby”, which has been receiving airplay from dozens of radio stations.
In 2009 Damen also went on a tour on which he played shows and festivals across Australia, the U.S. and Europe. The highlight was his performance as the opener for the “Karel Music Expo 2009″ in Cagliari (Italy) where he played alongside Marc Almond and which also gained him positive reviews in “Rolling Stone Magazine”.
